Would you be surprised to learn that even legends have legends.

In a land known for sunshine, warm sand, tropical waters, and surf, there is a legend among the fairies who call this paradise home. A lost tribe, who one days set out to touch the heavens and visit Auntie Poli 'ahu. She was said to dwell on the top of Mauna Kea, her home hidden by a great white cloak. And although Pele would dispute it, it is she who can claim to be the most beautiful of all the Hawai'ian goddess. The tribe sought to bring her offerings from the shore that her rival Pele denied her.

They were never seen again.

Or so the hula's told, mocking the foolishness of those who would dare to touch the sky. But they are wrong.

Bestowed the favor of glistening wings and the ability to frolic in the frigid air and cold snow as they once did the tropical sands and water, the Hawai'ian frost fairies continue to keep Poli 'ahu company to this day.
