Description
Road and river tunnels under the "bridge" in High Bridge, NJ; the town of high bridge got its name because of this structure. Interestingly enough, the original wooden trestle is still in place, rotting away under this fill. Immediately west of this area is New Jersey Transit's High Bridge station, and the present terminus of the Raritan Valley Line.Related content

I have been in the area any number of times, but I don't remember ever taking this particular road.

If you're coming from NJ 31, right before you go up the steep hill that ends with the station parking lot, look to the right. You'll see a small parking lot that's used by fishermen and hunters. Walk across the roadway bridge that's next to it, and the tunnels will be right on your left!
