Honestly, I forget how this picture originated. I think somebody requested it, but I forget if it was somebody on deviantArt or somebody that I know in real life...yeah.
I've wanted to do Devil's Carnival fanart for a long time, so I thought this would be a good way to do it, for 2 reasons: 1. I thought it would be fun to combine something as creepy as The Devil's Carnival with something cute and innocent, and 2. ...as shallow as this is, I'm hoping that drawing something pony-related will get me more pageviews. Ponies are popular. Why, I have no idea. I was very particular about wanting to use characters from the show, so I actually had to spend a whole lot of time on the My Little Pony wiki, looking through lists of ponies until I found the perfect ones. It was...interesting.

Twilight Sparkle - John (yeah, that one's gonna need a name change...)
Fluttershy - Tamara
Rarity - Merrywood
Chief Thunderhooves - The Tamer
Mr. Waddle - The Ticket Keeper
Morton Saltworthy - The Major (I sort of wanted to use Flam for this character...what do you guys think?)
Shortround - The Fool
Queen Chrysalis - The Twin
Big Macintosh - Hobo Clown
Cherry Fizzy - The Scorpion
Princess Cadence - Painted Doll (I was considering using Derpy, since both characters have messed-up eyes, but Derpy wasn't elegant enough to be Painted Doll)
Princess Luna - Wick
The Cutie Mark Crusaders (Applebloom, Sweetie Belle, and Scootaloo) - The Woe-Maidens
The Great & Apologetic Trixie - The Magician (with Angel Bunny as Harry the Hare)
This took a lot more editing than I'm used to...I hope it turned out okay.

I didn't use some of the main characters of the show, because I wanted to save them for later...after all, Episode 2 of the Devil's Carnival is out later this year, and it's going to give us a disturbing look of Heaven! (I am SO EXCITED!!) If I'm going to draw the angels, I'll need to save some characters for later. [link]

Thanks! Yeah, I thought Pinkie Pie could be one of the Woe Maidens, but really wanted to use the CMC for them. Hopefully if they ever get around to the sequel there'll be someone who fits Pinkie Pie.

hello its me again I just thought of flutter shy as the ceased mother you know the one the hologram. And that Dr pony with the hairdo that looks like a muffin would be the same doctor who gave the bad news and had a bullet in his head haha. and that one poplar stallion who has horseshoes as a cutie mark I forgot the name he will be the guy who was strapped down on that table from the scene is the dank Liz job but somebody's gotta do it. huh huh huh
