I know summer is over, but I wanted to squeeze some more red poppies in before the Autumn paintings come in! I have so many Autumn ideas in my head that I want to paint now..but then Autumn is such a short season...sadly!

But I am proud of the embroidery effect! I wanted to try that out as it can make a splendid effect. The dress was originally going to be white with gold bits, but the white ...didn't look white anymore!

I always leave the wings white until the last moment, then I paint in the same colours of the background, just paler!
