Watercolour on paper (2006)approx. 4" x 5"
Some of my mother's students are heading a fundraiser for our local animal shelter, so I've offered to make up some nice printed cards to sell as they like. Mom suggested something appropriate for the upcoming mother's day. This is the first finished design, a stylized coyote mom and pup!
I totally adore the original! I've used this style and colour combination in another coyote painting and I really enjoy it. There's an unfinished third one floating around, but I still have to transfer it to proper paper for painting. It's obvious that in my art, and in my dreams, coyote is here to stay.

so do I! It makes colouring simpler to break it down into just the countershading to begin with. Not the most advanced technique but I have fun doing it, so I guess that's what counts, really
