Now known as Eastern Asia Minor's military reinstated the use of Samurai to defend the governing body. The last known group was contacted and convinced to train new recruits. Seeing as firearms almost led to their extinction, they had long since incorporated them into their fighting style along with their signature Samurai sword, now enhanced with a blade sharpened down to a single atom and further supercharged with electrical current. This blade was the origin of their nickname, the Lightning warriors.

In 2218 they were recommissioned as a special tasks group, and made a sect of the United Terran Marine Corps. The other soldiers of the corps have yet to understand why the samurai almost appear to teleport across the battlefield, appearing behind enemies and within their entrenched positions. They have proved to be a valuable asset in combating insurrection and for galactic security.
