I'm more of a Nintendo fanboy myself, but I love the classic Sonic games!

I love all Sonic games, even Sonic '06 :3 Not too big on Nintendo though, especially after seeing the launch games for the Wii U.

Well, I do like some modern ones, and to be fair, I haven't played any of the ones I think I wouldn't like. Sonic Adventure 2 was actually the first Sonic game I ever played, and I loved it at the time. And Sonic Generations is awesome.

Well, it's divided into three story episodes plus a final story. Sonic's story is just kinda meh, Shadow's story is pretty cool, and Silver's story is one of the few things in video games that can bring tears to your eyes.

However, the game has several glitches that caused the game to get terrible reviews. If you don't think about the glitches, you'll probably never notice or encounter them, though.

The loading times are horrible, but it was made before Sega made the Hedgehog Engine, and the graphics are photo-realistic, so all that considered, this make sense.

Also, it has.....THE KISS. It still holds as the most disgusting video game kiss of all time, but it isn't all that bad unless you have a dirty mind. When I first saw it when I was, like, ten, I was just like, "Okay, kinda weird, but whatever." However, after livin' and learnin' for several years, I saw it again and was just all like "wtf Sega actually approves of this?". But once again, to a person whose mind isn't in the gutter, it's not all that bad.

The game feels like a (slightly slowed down) Sonic Adventure (the gameplay is almost identical) with better graphics. It has action stages and adventure stages, and some of them really do feel like they're from SA. There are also some side quests that have unnecessary loading screens, as the game must rebuild the entire stage for things like Silver's powers to work well, but the side quests, though short, can be fun sometimes.

The game's antagonist who I won't reveal the name of is the perfect villain--he knows exactly what he's doing, he has hundreds of backup plans, and he can appear as a kind old man in order to trick people into working for him. He never tells lies, either--he just puts things out of context and never tells the whole truth. In fact, I didn't figure out that he was a bad guy until later in the game!

Now, there is one thing in the game that always confuses people: Blaze the Cat's role. To keep you from getting confused, I'll tell you now that the game takes place before Sonic Rush (from Blaze's point of view), and Blaze only "remembers" Sonic in the English dub because they couldn't translate a major part of the plot (that being that Silver called Sonic an "aoi harinezumi" (blue hedgehog), and Blaze thought he said "aoi" as in "naive", thus causing her to be confused).

Overall, I personally love the game. Glitchy or not, it has its fun points, and Silver's story made me cry. And the final boss--which is, supposedly, the only thing in the entire game without a single glitch--is just plain EPIC.

Think you'll like it? They don't sell it anymore, you'll have to order it online. It's for the Xbox 360 and the PS3, though it barely runs on the PS3, so the Xbox 360 version is recommended.

Think you won't like it? Just get it anyway to make fun of the glitches--I think you can order it new for only two bucks anyway.

Wow, thanks for the in-depth response! I'll definitely have to check it out. Unfortunately I don't have a 360 or PS3, but when I get one I'll check it out!

Glad to see that you aren't one of those people who hear about the glitches and the kiss and call it a bad game :3

I don't have a 360 or PS3 either, but I'll be getting a 360 for the purpose of learning more XNA, so I have yet to actually play it XD I know it can't be all that bad because I've played all the way through SADX, which has all of the same annoying glitches that Sonic '06 has.
