amazing job..im planning on going into colored pencils as my new medium, any tips on how to do skin tones??? or can you tell me any artist(s) here on dA that are using colored pencils as their main medium? great gallery you got here..hope to see more of your work in the near future..

Thank you! Color pencils are fun to use. As far as skin tones go, it is very important to layer. And if you're going to layer, you have to pick at least two or three colors that you'll use as a base color(midtone of skin), one you'll use for shadows( normally darker than midtones and at times it can be more than one color, but you've got to have one primary color for shadows) and as far as highlights go, I sometimes use the white of the paper, but you could also pick a color that is lighter than both the midtone and shadow. I did a tutorial a few weeks ago. It isn't specifically on skin tone but it gives you an idea of what I mean when I use the term layering. [link]
