Description this is a style guide for one of my characters johnn alienΒ©. i was seeing what his face would look like with different expressions. i should have taken pics of me drawing these...sitting in front of a mirror and making all these faces im sure it would have been more amusing? let me know what you guys and galls think!!!

Did you go to school to learn all this? I'm still in high school man, and this is what I bloody well want to learn to do! I can't find anything good on the web to teach me. The books that Iv'e come across are useless. If you have any advice I'd gladly take it.

By the way, I think I've seen this character somewhere a long while back. I could be mistaken of course, but If you're a professional artist, which it looks like you are, you ought to sell Johnny here off as an idea for a comic or cartoon or something. He's bad ass. He looks like he could punch a hole through a wall.

i think this seemingly simple piece i did has gotten the most replies of all the art i've posted...


keep on mind i cant post all my art since i do work for a company. but it makes me think i should do more of this manner...

yea it was pretty funny my roommate at the time came in asking if i was ok....on several occasions

:: studying the pictures closely :: -- I am about 527 words at the story. I have him looking at a bunch of tourists as they are studying him. It is a process doing a story based on the drawings. I am trying to keep him from not getting into any fights with human characters. If you want a good science fiction writer too -- check out Nicholas S. Stember. Get a hold of me for his link because this guy taught me about writing science fiction. He's a talented mind in the Sci-fi genre.

Expression sheets are always interesting to look at, especially even more so when they're of your own character. Each expression is unique, which can be hard to accomplish, but you seem to achieve it without problems. My favorite has to be the 3d down from the top left corner. It's like he's supressing a big laugh, like a friend or just someone on the street did something silly and he doesn't want to laugh out loud as it may embarass someone even more. Something like that. Great work, man.
