Been awhile since I painted something, so here's a tribute painting to the amazing avengers. Just watched it last week and it was better than what i've expected, eye candy!So did a painting of one of my fav character from the movies, the god of thunder. Added in my favorite elements AGAIN and i've Changed a little bit of the costume as well as the mjolnir. This took around a full day to finish.
Had alot of trouble with finding references, especially his head, but i mainly refer to Ryan Meinerding's amazing rendering of chris hemworth. This is just a fanart, no copyright infringement intended.

I noticed that throughout the movie, Thor's costume slightly alters to resemble many of his costumes:
-When he first appears, he's wearing a cape but no chain mail, so he looks like classic Thor
-Then on the Helicarrier, he wears neither the cape or the chain mail, like Ultimate Thor
-And during the final battle, he has the cape and the chain mail, like modern Thor

I noticed that too! My favourite Thor costume from The Avengers was when he was in the Helicarrier, he was wearing no cape or chain mail.Β

The attention to detail is just astounding! Even the vapor coming off of the hammer as the rain hits it is incredible! Thor looks completely battle-worn, but I pity the bad guy who crosses his path! Amazing job! Instant fave!

I think my favorite part is actually the tiny blue glowing effects. It's the right combination of magic and technology that the MCU Asgardian's are based around.

Superb, the work on Thor, in addition with the modifications you made are great. It is very nice, especially with the chips in the gear and the cuts along Thor's skin, creating a battle harden look that reflects his nature. Well done, keep it up.

I just can't stop looking at the picture... and I can't decide either if I should look at it in full view (because of all the amazing details, the mjollnir with the runes and the steam rising from it, the expression on Thor's face, the clothing and how blood and rain are dripping from it, the hair, the hands O.O) or if I should look at it as a whole piece for the feeling of action it gives me... it's just breathtaking
