Nothing like a jack-o-lantern to bring in December, eh?

After I posted my Moltres pumpkin in my LJ, a good friend requested Ho-oh. It sounded like a challenge, so I agreed. And oh what a challenge. 5 hours man. This thing is freaking detailed. The picture doesn't do its coolness justice. Yeah, that's about 4 layers of scrapage there. No lie.

I loved all of your carvings, but this one seemed the most appropriate looking one to me, since it actually looks like the bird is flying in front of the sun. Beautiful!

4 layers, huh? That's quite a commitment for a jack-o-lantern! (I'm guessing as we Australians generally don't celebrate halloween-but tell that to the neighbour kids XD)

Anyway, this is freaking sweet! I LOVE Ho-oh! (Although isn't Ho-oh more associated with the Sun- being a Phoenix, rather than Fire?)

OHH Its awsome to find a fellow pumpking carver! and Pokemon fan! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE to carve pumpkins and yours are SUPER awsome! id post the ones i did this year except v___v the pics came out really crappy :h the sadness:: I did Professor Snape, one of my Little bother and sister, Dale Earnhart, Gollum, Billy boyd (pippin) , Stitch (from lelo and stitch), princess mononoke on naru, and bart from da simpsons! way too many hrs to count on pumpkin carving haha but isnt it grand?!!!!?!? yours are really awsome i was impressed w/that fourth layer! i only use three! i wish pumpkins were avalible year round v__v alas. ill stop blabbering.

That is amazing. I'm especially glad it's lit up-- I don't think the full effect would be there without it. Really nice job on the feathers. I love the tail.
