Here he is, posted this Sunday, as I hoped he would be! Although I started to have my doubts, haha...

You would think assigning someone a Job Class that really fits them visually would make designing them easy, but I actually had a really hard time with this. lol I wanted his design to be Terra-ish, so I didn't want to opt for the FF staple of a full-armored samurai (I guess that's a staple. I consulted the FF wiki's samurai page several times, but I don't remember. I'm just thinking of the job in FF5), but anything I tried I thought looked too similar to his actual appearance. I tried to further differentiate his design, so I kept adding little details, and in the end, I think I overcompensated.

I used the KH3 manga as a reference for Terra this time, so he looks a little different than how I usually draw him.

Originally, I had drawn samurai-esque armor on his right arm and on his chest (the first sketch is in my notebook, which is why there are no breastplate concepts in his sketch sheet), but I had trouble designing a breastplate I liked and I ended up dropping those ideas (probably to make him look more canon-ish). Early on when I thought about Job Classes, I had wanted to give several characters a subclass by incorporating motifs and designs from a secondary job I thought fit the character. Although I've pretty much dropped that in all my planning (too much extra work and stress for me), the armor on his left arm is still designed to look like Dark Knight armor, his dropped(?) subclass. Its appearance was inspired by Bravely Default's version of the class, and I drew the pauldron to look crown-like, but then I realized that fit Xehanort or Sora a lot more than it did Terra, so I changed it into a stylized hand shape.

Considering Terra's Keyblades, a katana seemed too thin and fine a weapon for him, so I tried to make it more like Auron's greatsword-style katana, and it ended up looking like Earthshaker with a long, two-handed grip. lol I also like the keychains on the ends of Keyblades, so I thought I could keep it.

So I haven’t been doing too great with my plan of doing one Job Class pic a month, but while I was finishing Terra’s design, I also finished another character’s and I’m now very close to finalizing another one. I’m hoping I'll be able to do them somewhat soon, both of which are KH characters, if you were wondering, and one of them is one of Terra’s best friends. (Unfortunately not both of them, haha)
Also, doing Terra’s picture actually took a lot out of me, I think I went too far and pushed myself again. Not sure if it was all the clothing layers he’s wearing, his brooch, his sword (at least the brooch and sword, I'm sure), my several weeks of obsessing over designs beforehand, or the entire thing. And since I still plan on doing 38 more pictures like this, I’ve decided, for my health and my sanity, that I need to make some changes with future Job Class pictures. I’m not sure what those changes will be, like if they’ll be somewhat messy and sketchy from here on out, or if I won’t obligate myself to do a full body plus their weapon (ideally I’ll still post sketch sheets for each of them, and that should hopefully cover whatever doesn’t make it into the final picture), so you might see me experimenting with that in the next few pictures. Also, I probably won’t try to get a Job Class picture done each month, since that plan just made me stress and obsess over finishing some. I definitely need to figure out a solid strategy, though, since I don’t want this to be my drawing project for the next several years, haha
