Description
An illustration I did yesterday. Wanted to practice some crosshatching and stuff, its been a while since I've completed a complete illustration.
Was thinking about doing a group of these kind of pictures all focusing on these two buddies.
The scanner couldn't get all of it.

Just love how the swamp monster's head sort of reminds me of a toad XD I've never even attempted to do the patch style crosshatching in the swamp monster, it seems so hard to get highlights and lowlights with it, but you made it work!

Ya I was going for that toad look. I thought it would fit that whole swamp idea. Yeah I'm kinda new to the whole crosshatching style so I just picked a simple light source and just winged it.

The texture definitely gives the skin a more rough, almost stony feel, so I think totally appropriate for an monster exposed to the elements.
