Love the eyes, as always, but I don't feel that much proportion as in other works, Not of your bests, nor of your worsts, though. I can't see the deepness of it, and the lights on the breasts are no good. Except for that, awesome work, as you use to.
If you get out the ear it would be a lot better, I think it doesn't fit the picture.
I completely love the background and the bird.
About the dress, I would add some texture or something like you did to the chinese girl in you "Tutorial for PC Drawing".
Congrats!

First, it looks pretty good, especially the colors.
Before I read the description, I could see that this was ispired by sakimichan, because the background colors, and the smooth, shiny skin reminded me of her style e.deviantart.net/emoticons/b/b⦠" width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Big Grin)"/>
I think there is nothing wrong with trying new styles and stuff, but I do agree that some parts look a bit off, especially proportions of the face, and also the hand which looks flat.
Her expression looks a bit off, too. I think it's because the lack of small wrinkles between the eyebrows that makes it look as if she isn't actually making a sad face, just having "sad eyebrows" drawn on her forehead.
To be honest, the anatomy is not as good as on your previous artworks, but I wouldn't say it's bad. I think it's just because you didn't use reference for this one, am I right? I think you should practice anatomy and drawing without reference more, because you could create more awesome artworks this way e.deviantart.net/emoticons/b/b⦠" width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Big Grin)"/>
Also, I think Pocahontas wasn't the right one to try this new style on. These features, for example the thin nose, can't really be found on Native American people. Of course it's art, so some liberties can be taken, and I'm pretty sure there was no racism and/or "whitewashing" intended. But it is true that it's always good to try drawing different body types and features, instead of trying to apply the same face for every artwork, because it won't always work.
Overall, this is a very good artwork. It could be improved, but I guess it's true for every art e.deviantart.net/emoticons/b/b⦠" width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Big Grin)"/> It's a nice start for trying a new style.

you should check out Lily-san's art. She's real good. They look very realistic (At least to me they do).

Thank you for depicting her with dark brown wavy hair instead of stark black straight hair. The wavy is better suited to the region and tribe she would have been a part of (our tribes share Iroquois language roots). The stark black hair is more typical of the southwest tribes.

This looks very good! I love the colouring as usual, the only thing I would suggest would be changing her facial structure a bit- she looks more like a westerner, and doesn't resemble Pocahontas.

You know, I wonder why Disney doesn't use Pocahontas much. I see so much of Cinderella, Ariel, and Jasmine, but no Megara, Pocahontas, or Mulan. Dunno why.

unfortunately, Meg and Mulan aren't considered as princesses based on their storylines, which bites a big one in it's own right. They're also starting to use Tiana a little more too, which is really a bug. The only time they have Mulan and Pocahontas are really in just the collection dolls. I barely see a hair of Meg anymore, too. Alice actually got more face time with things than her, and it was never actually stated of if she was a princess[other than in Kingdom Hearts, in which case every world had to have it's own princess], or just a noblewoman.

Yeah, it's unfortunate that they get cast to the side. Β Even amongst Nintendo ladies, no one knows who Rosalina is. Β It's like, Daisy got kidnapped once in a game Boy game and is now merely spinoff material, but Rosalina is the central character of arguably the most important Mario game since 64, and...no one knows her.
But at least even she's more well known than Pauline. Β Poor Pauline.

yeah. Kida, after the first Atlantis movie, had only maybe one or two things, and then was forgotten about. No one even knew about her enough for the second movie to even be a bother to many of the people that had seen the original one. T^T sooo many princesses are passed up, and so when I see those that are being made known, and more so some of them being turned twisted like what jeftoon01 is doing, I naturally have to give massive props. ^^

a deviantartist on here that has a twisted princess gallery. It includes Kida within it, and the artist spoke of adding more to it. It even has the blue fairy from Pinocchio. XD in total currently there's 19 different ones in his gallery.
