Description in remote areas of Northwestern Zecharia, its primary habitat,a bull pygmy auxlerokharid returns to the water after having left for the duration of the night. although the species is not particularly well-researched,its assumed they spend most of the day in the water while going on land during the night to forage for food, which includes insects, bird eggs and small mammals such as rodents, but also fallen fruit, berries and other vegetation to a lesser degree.

the pygmy auxler is much smaller and less widespread than its cousin the common auxlerokharid, averaging around 115 centimetres long and a weight of around 80 kg,about the size of a small pig. the reptile seen depicted in the water is a northern thin-headed zillarin,a relatively small to medium sized zillarin species. although the picture above depicts a noticably above average specimen, this zillarin typically averages just over around 2 meters long and 70 kg,but some specimens can exceed 3 meters and weigh over 150 kg. despite it seeming like it could easily take down the pygmy auxler, its head structure is too thin to capture large prey,so even at above average sizes it mostly feeds on fish and waterbirds up to 11 kg.
