It looks somehow sombre and tragic, like the midsection of a compassionate stone Buddha cradling a still born child. A Buddhist master once told a woman grieving for her dead child that the only cure for her grief would be to eat a bowl of rice given to her by a family that had never known such loss or sorrow. She tried in vain to find such a household, but instead discovered that all families in her district had known loss and grief and so learned to persue a philosophy of acceptance.
