It's still hard to imagine that for a time, ALL (or at least most) of Middle Earth looked like this, when Morgoth was at the peak of his power. Later, Mordor would be a chilling reminder of what the world could yet become again.

I am so happy to see illustrations that accurately portray tolkiens world. Thank you for remembering angband and the anfauglith are cloaked in pitch darkness! I tried to recreate this point in one of my own illustrations too. I love the light from the lava. Thank you for your attention to detail!
