Description Hot Wheels "Tooned Up" trailers repainted as rusty retro-futuristic campers.  Normally, Hot Wheels toys would be more in scale for 20mm or thereabouts, suitable for Gaslands, but the "Tooned Up" pack (a cab pulling a trailer, with a little racer car that can fit in the back) actually looks as if the cab could fit a 32mm scale driver, and the camper might be big enough for 32mm as well.  (32mm scale "Avery" miniature from Fallout: Wasteland Warfare shown in picture for scale -- also painted by me.)

Here, I removed the wheels and painted up the campers, base-coating in grey, then going through a few treatments of graphite gray acrylic, spattering with burnt sienna and golden tan, then drizzling on some more grey and whatever came up from the bottom of my paintbrush water bowl.  (Ewww.)  I replaced the wheels with some stubby bits on wire to represent bare wheels with tires long gone.

For the grill, I dug through my bin of broken toy parts and just found an interior tab piece (I think a spare part from a Toy Story play set?) that looked vaguely like it could be a grill-top if I chopped it off just so, based it on a piece of resin sprue, and that on an MDF 25mm round disc.  For the grill, I used some pieces of cross-stitch grid, and drilled holes in the "grill" plastic to insert the stubs on one end revealed when snipping out the grid.

The picnic table is cobbled together from some Hirst Arts Castlemolds castings in Hydrocal (broken, but, hey, that's okay for the Apocalypse!), on a 50mm plastic square base.

As with many of my scenes, it's all on terrain boards from Secret Weapon Miniatures Tablescapes ("Rolling Fields" and "Scrap Yard" themes).
