Fanart of Samus Aran from Nintendo's Metroid series.

Originally I drew this on an 8.5x11" paper (I'll upload the Scan of it later) for a forumgoer at the Clockwork Mansion forums.
Samus is a character in the ongoing webcomic "Castlevania RPG". What she is doing in an RPG/Castlevania universe is beyond me, but nevertheless, she's there, she's got her own little sprite in the comic, and now has a wallpaper and a Poster.

After scanning, I turned the lines into solid black in Paint Shop Pro, then used Levels and Multilayering, plus some other tools within that software, to create the shading. Last, I found a picture of the Milky Way online (I don't know where), and I used it as the backdrop. In between the Milky Way and Samus I put a grayscaled translucent Samus Logo (her emblem in the game), merged all the layers and saved it as JPG, BMP, and PNG (as well as Paint Shop Pro format).

I'm but a novice at Digital Art, and my biggest hurdle is still the black line 'errors' that happen when you transpose a Scan document into LineArt. I suppose I'll get better, but I'm really just toying around, seeing what happens.
