Description A design drawn on the back of my date to a Halloween party. It's based off the Kushiel's series of fantasy books by Jacqueline Carey, in which indentured servants earn their freedom by putting a portion of their earnings into a tattoo on their back. When the tattoo is complete, they're free. Incidentally, most people like this are prostitutes. She told people who asked who she was that she was a high class whore (= Works for me. Done with a double-ended Prismacolor marker.

That is very creative, to make up your own marque! I like it...and I know how hard it is to draw on someone with marker! When I was in school everyone wanted me to draw tattoos on them with gel pen ...anyway...I'm in the middle of reading the second book and they are just fascinating!! I love how she writes. I'm actually in the process of painting Phedre...and I would eventually like to paint Joscelin...so maybe they will be up on my page in the near future.

OH MY GOD! I just started that series, and absolutely love it! Though this doesn't look too similar to the one PhedrΓ© has on the cover, the similarity in idea is definitely there. Not bad for just marker.

I've been surprised by the number of people who've read the Kushiel's series. Several people at the party commented on it, and many more have mentioned it to Maggie or me since. We had first planned to do the one from the cover or something very similar, but then decided it'd be more fun to make one up, so that's why it doesn't look like anything. I'm glad you like it (=

Ah! So you read it, too!

I wish someone had done a really great picture of him...I have such trouble imagining male blondes, for some reason.

I haven't seen a good one either. And his character had so much promise. Why do I always like the first characters the author kills off?

Joscelin doesn't die (= I misread your comment. I was thinking of Alucin for some reason. I thought his character had some great promise, but no we have to kill him before half of the first book is over \= Joscelin is fine and well through all three books of the first trilogy, and will presumably be in the second trilogy as well (=

nice work! i like the line quality of the lilly's flower. i think the petals are a little incongruent, but it's very pretty.

Yeah, I agree about the petals, but I have to say I was pretty happy with the result. Drawing with pen or marker is not my forte, due to the whole lack of eraser thing, so I was just glad I didn't screw it up any more than I did (=
