That's gorgeous and so bright and full of life <3
And it doesn't come with the sunlight attached! The eyes are saved!

If the sun was in the background of the photo, I'd be hard pressed to not get the background white. Finding the correct angle to take the shot was key here

aperture 5.6? wow. I mean, the way it blurs the background is awesome.

Yeah, it's all about the focal length.

The two ways to get very shallow DOF: either wide aperture or long focal length.
You can get both... but it costs A LOT.

Finally experiencing pseudo-Philippine weather! Oh Joy! NZ is pretty in the summer but sometimes the sun's just too much :]

You bet! I notice NZLers don't like building communities near unrestrained creeks. Swift recovery to them. ><"

This is the Philippines - a very tropical country!

We also have the most number of typhoons per year.

I've never experienced a typhoon How does it feel, compared to a blizzard?

I'd take the blizzard - at least it would kill all the cockroaches.

Hehe, I thought so vs a photo of the chocolate hills. Honestly, though, it didn't look that impressive vs from a plane.
