It's usual for crime to break out in january / february due to new year beginnings and high tourist density, it's just that due to some political meddling things went a bit ridiculous this year. Nah, it's gonna calm down soon enough, there are some cases still happening here and there but people are more being more cautious, until the crime wave ends. =<
