Description Hey everyone

These are one Keijo's early region bugs. Based on the Machaca, or Alligator Bug, or Peanut Bug, or loads of other names. Peanut bugs are actually related to planthoppers, hence, the early stages.

Nocturnal - Attacks are more powerful at night.

Enjoy!

-------------------

Basic Stage: Hoplant - The Hopper Pokemon
Type: Bug
Ability: Sniper/Steadfast
Name Meaning: Hop-Plant
Evolves: lvl 20

A tiny Pokemon, it consumes only the best nutrients from leaves using its filter like mouth. It digs its claws in before leaping up to 20ft in the air to reach new plants.

--------------------

First Stage: Leapleaf - The Hopper Pokemon
Type: Bug
Ability: Sniper/Steadfast
Name Meaning: Leap-Leaf
Evolves: lvl 35

By digging its claws into tree bark, it is able to aim its jump perfectly to avoid even the quickest predators. It can leap up to 50ft.

------------------

Second Stage: Machaco - The Disguise Pokemon
Type: Bug/Dragon
Ability: Intimidate/Nocturnal
Name Meaning: Machaca-Draco

Ancient tribes used to fear this pokemon, due to its intimidating appearance, though it is actually a gentle plant eater. Its elaborate disguise is mainly to deter hungry bird Pokemon. It digs its claws into tree trunks to rest.

ok hoPLANT and leapLEAF, how are those bug pokemon name, and at first I thought the leveling left something to be desired being a dragon pokemon but then I thought a lot of bug pokemon evolve earlier then most and it primary element is bug so whether you did it on purpose or by accident. I really like this pokemon, thank you.

They are both variations of Leafhopper - a type of bug. This is an early region PokΓ©mon, and as such evolves earlier than most PokΓ©mon.

I've had a look through all of yours several times before and I realised that I hadn't favourited the ones I had really liked. I love the first two guys so much. They work so well - simple and effective. I don't like the third one as much even though the concept is a nice idea and you've given a history to it! I think I see it as not being developed enough (I think we all expect more from Dragon types :/) or not coming as naturally from the previous two.

JoshKH92 In reply to KVJudge [2012-10-07 11:20:11 +0000 UTC]

Thanks for the comment - I guess he does look a little different from his previous stages but I kind of like the shock value. I also made a conscious decision to not have him look awesomely powerful despite his dragon typing - don't forget he's an early region bug.

KVJudge In reply to JoshKH92 [2012-10-07 12:58:22 +0000 UTC]

Yeah that's true. I think having access to an early region dragon type that isn't superpowered is a cool idea. It gives variety.

The idea is great, a bug dragon and actually the original insect machaca is really cool but i would redesign the head and wings to look more like an insect and not a crocodile

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

JoshKH92 In reply to danpeder [2012-03-24 22:39:08 +0000 UTC]

But the Machaca has a crocodile head, thats the whole point of the entire concept!

So, being that i am a nerd and on a bit of a poke-rush myself lol, i made my own custom poke's, as alt starters. Even though it does not really work, i made a dark, a ghost and a psychic, intended to be your picks. The Dark, Shaduppy, Shaduppy is a (normal type, umbrulf is normal/dark, and wolclipse is pure dark) is a speed-based dark type puppy (shadow-puppy) intended to be Dark type's answer to growlithe. Its evolutions, Unbrulf and Wolcypse (umbral-wolf and Wolf-eclipse) get faster, and wolclipse gets way stronger attack stat wise; the second, the psychic, is Thinkap, the garment-type pokemon, it attaches to the heads of pokemon and humans alike and uses thoughts to control their bodies. It evolves into Thoughtood (thought-hood) and Mentelmet (mental-helmet), its speed is relatively low, but its defenses are high for a psychic-type 'mon. the last (and my favorite of the 3 i made) is Spiritus, the roaming soul pokemon. it is often mistaken for ghastly, but unlike ghastly, it is the soul of a proud warrior that died with wishes unfulfilled. It evolves into Spirituire (spirit-squire), where it gains defensive stats. at level 45, it evolves into Spiritight (spirit-knight), the ultimate eternal guardian. Spiritight has three forms (normal, the balanced stat form; Berserker, where its offensive stats are maximized; and Defender, where its defenses are highest)
i might post pics of them at some point but i dunno lol, right now they are doodles in a sketch pad i used when i was waiting for my car to be serviced.
