It's really neat and unique, but it confuses me as to why it is a dog

Well, I guess it does make sense. I do like it a lot, great job on all of these designs!

HELLO AGAIN!
I'm back, and REPORT-ing for duty once more! -lol-Β
I had actually taken another look at your gallery some time back! Specifically at the Scrapull family and Nimfrond family. Β And somehow I had actually managed to formulate logical theories explaining:
- How Scrapull turned from its more canine appearance into this much more brawly physique.
- The reason why the Fatapila family suddenly disappeared from the Pokedex.
BECAUSE SCIENCE RULES AGAIN. AND SCIENCE CAN EXPLAIN THESE KINDS OF THINGS. 8D

Oho, thank you so much! But here's what I came up with!
- Scrapull's family is perhaps one of the most dramatic examples of artificial selective breeding yet. Today's generation of Scrapull have bigger muscles, red skin (which is a byproduct of larger amounts of blood running faster through their system), and a LOT more adrenaline than even the last generation. This makes them better fighters in battle, but extremely hard to handle outside of battle.
- In the meanwhile, there's a reason why Fatapila and its kin are not around anymore. That's because....they've become extinct in the wild. Right under our noses. For a while, the Nimfrond family had been competing with Fatapila for resources and territory. Leaves, trees, dirt, fruits, water, courtship spots...you name it. They've both been at it for a while.
However, what truly won their side over was the fact that Nimfrond was able to successfully compete for resources against Machaco, a strong DRAGON type, by evolving a Fairy-typing. Therefore, while Nimfrond was able to survive, the Fatapila family found itself slowly starving until now....all wild Fatapila are now dead. As of now, only 43 remain in the whole WORLD. And all of them are in captivity.

A big remake had its place here. I find the design and colors more suiting to a fighting type now, great work. Though something bothers me, Danine's arms look disconnected from its body. Is that intentional or just a matter of angle of view?

JoshKH92 In reply to Winged-Wasabi [2013-05-21 21:51:51 +0000 UTC]
Thanks! Its just the angle (and the shape of the arms) which makes them look like they are not connected.

That was quite a change. Do you keep the original designs anywhere on DA?

This is awesome! You've improved them greatly. I really like this concept and I've always wanted to see a normal/fighting type. The last evolution looks really fresh. Almost like a Spartan warrior.

Ah, so clever. You come up with concept I'd never think of and you make a perfect design for them every single time.

it's a boxing style. pretty much you put your defense up and let you opponent tire themselves out before you start your next assault. Muhammad Ali is famous for it.

To me, the Quadruped was a little awkward and a bit too close to the real thing. I didn't feel it was playful enough as a design. Also, aside from the dog-fighting thing, it didn't really work as a fighting type. I'm really happy with the new designs.
