We had followed the Lickitung’s trail from the orchard up into the forest, heading over the large hill that backed the property. We eventually lost its tracks but it was clear which direction it had come from.
Carefully we made our way down the otherwise, watching our footing as we went. How the Lickitung had made it this way was surprising considering how steep it was.

The hillside towered over a small cove that met with the ocean on the other side. We could see jagged rocks speckling the ocean floor and sharp ridges rising up on both sides. It would be very difficult to make your way here both by land or sea, especially with the Orchard blocking off the main route from the mainland. It was like a little slice of paradise cut off from the rest of the world, perfect for a rare species of Pokemon to thrive.

Reaching the beach, Alejandro pulled a flask of whiskey from his pocket. As he leaned in for a swig, a large pink tongue slid over his shoulder and wrapped around his arm. In shock, Alejandro screamed and scampered over the sand towards the water's edge. I turned to see another Lickitung!
It was a little larger than the last, as far as I could tell this was a female.
I turned to see Alejandro scrubbing slime from his wrist in the saltwater muttering under his breath. I couldn’t help but laugh!

The Lickitung’s long tongue suddenly gripped his backpack and snapped it into its mouth. It quickly began making its way back to the forest as Alejandro began shouting and chasing after it. Catching up he grabbed the bag hanging from its mouth and began a tug of war with the Pokemon. Finally, with one large tug, he pulled it from its mouth, falling backward into the sand. Grumbling he stood up and started to complain to me that his bag was ruined. I tried to intercede and warn him, but before I could, the Pokemon’s large tongue slimed up the back of his neck!…
