thank you Wendy....

I finally found the time to submit your portrait as a print. It is a 300 DPI 18 x 24", almost 20MB... Send me a note with your postal address and I will send you a print.

have you seen how many messages praising the "beautiful model" on your portrait? [link]

By some reason dA keeps rejecting my print submission of the portrait. It is 33 MB maybe that is the reason. I will shrink to less resolution with the hope it works...

I hope you do get it re-siszed, it would be really cool to have!

Hey Jossif.....

I'm sorry it has taken me so long to reply.... I had a "seniors moment" and accidentally wiped over 100 of my messages.. when the new dA changes took place.....and i know i was leaving this one of yours to go in and comment on.....

I love the look of this pic... it has such a "Old Masters" feel to it.... along those dark Rembrandt lines.... and i love the fact that even tho you can't see any one lemon in its entirety....you know you are looking at a bunch of lemons... (gawd... if that makes a skerrick of sense....)

This fires me on to get cracking on that fruit still life collab i still have in the back of my mind.....i can see the draping green grapes now.....

I hope you are well...
I watch your work in utter amazement as it comes thru....

So sweet of you... appreciated the comments... it seems that unless you show some skin (and not the lemon kind) you don't get any comments... Are we really so sexed-up ?

I look forward to these grapes. It will be a real pleasure.

Thank you Jossif for the

Unfortunately the amnesia/deja vu is just a little too close for comfort nowadays...

and yes.. one of the draw-backs of a youth oriented community.... show a bit of skin... and attrack a swarm of comments....... (altho in my case... i'm sure i'd be told.. whatever i'm wearing needs to be ironed!!! )
...and you should know that this is the generation that discovered sex!!!! how on earth did the human race manage to prosper beforehand....

anyhoo.....if i keep on writing... i'll either....
a) forget what i'm talking about and lose my original thread... *ooops too late*
or
b) start repeating myself...
...repeating myself...

Take care.... i'm on a mission to find a lovely elevated fruit bowl .......

i love this one it has a great true feel of painting medium to its strokes. i also like the hard light/shadow play - it reminds me of the darker still lifes in art

The color doesn't grade, and I don't know it that is simply intentional, but I do like the effect very much; its all that more eyecatching. and the texture is really wonderful as well, I love how you captured that.

This is my first "still life" and I was experimenting with giving texture (instead of removing tecture when I do bodies and faces). The color looks OK to me on my Mac, could be than on a PC the gamma is different so colors may look darker.

I will be trying next grapes, apples adn anything els I can get my hands on and that can be placed on a table...

How long have you been using the tablet to draw?

I have been painting with a tablet since April, and I can see that I am learning to use it better.... the new tablet I have is an Intuos 2, that have tilt sensiity as well as pressure so it give you a muche better feel.

I wish I could put hours at the computer to draw and paint....but unfortunately I can't. my computer usage is limited and I'd rather paint in one sitting than over time. That and I'm much more used to drawing than painting, but I'm practicing traditionally[with acrylics] in my room. Have you used a tablet before april, or rather, how long have you been painting digitally? I have an intuos 2 as well, it is a little 4 by 5, but I love it dearly.

You would not believe this but I never painted anything (traditional or digitally) before April this year.... really... I always loved art, though, and I am pretty good at graphic design, typography, etc.

I came acrosss dA by chance, and was so inspired by all the talent and having all these wonderful photos kindly made available as stock that I could use as references... that here I am.

I am planning to go and give it a try to paint traditionally, probably explore pastels, chalk or carbon.
