this is a scrapped painting that im posting on my gallery cause nobody checks scraps. I actually really wanted to finish this, but the poor design choices and idea alltogether made me quit.Related content

Something about the bumps on her right thigh is bothering me but it's a nitpick. Those folds are well done though.Β

I like the idea, but the bra and the skirt should have been redder/pinker to match the colour palette
as well as her torso lol

I think i know why, and i have the same problem is you hate reusing the same elements. Like for instance i really cringe the thought of drawing another girl with dark hair and bangs, even though that's like my favorite thing ever. You use that kinda frilly loose clothing a lot and that's probably why you don't like it whereas most people like it or never would hate it. Expanding visual library is a good idea, like looking at or studying real clothing or armor helps you invent fresher ideas for that sorta stuff; Alex Negrea has a great process for it of just taking notes and applying from memory

yes thats one of the reasons too but its also cause i just dont know how i feel about the subject matter and how limited and kind of unconscious my decisions are when drawing. but yeah ill do something about my visual library...eventually

I've learned recently that it is about an extended effort to increase visual library. I have to remind myself each day of the types of designs i want to make and study them constantly. Kind of like anatomy; I think I'll know something, but then i'll forget it two days later. Just keep that in mind, i don't know why I'm saying that though, i guess because I'm working on my Visual library rn
