Description
As Firo, the stand-in King of the Pridelands, performs the duties that a normal King would carry out, the royal majordomo arrives panting at his feet.'What is it?' he asks, instantly alarmed at the sudden appearance of the bird.
'Your - your son, sire,' he says, speaking in between breaths.
'What about Capa?' Firo demands, stepping towards the small bird.
'He's gone,' the bird replied, taking flight again in distress. 'Missteri has him. He's gone, sire!'
Dark clouds rolled in and the brink of a storm was in the air. The whole of Prideland heard the thunder.
And his roar.

Good, busy. I was Malcolm's friend who lived in OH near him. I played Erevu and a few other obscure characters but Cody was originally mine (I kind of let Mal take him over since I was busy a lot...he partially just took it upon himself but that's how he was).

The art, now the art is gorgeous. Really, the colors and the lighting show that there is a high stress and emotion scene going on. It's great. But my question has nothing to do with the art, well it's related. It is: What is "Ulaya"? I'm guessing it's role playing, but is it like a site for fan-stories and/or art and such? I'm curious because I noticed a number of your art is Ulaya related and I kinda want to know what happens after and/or before this scene.

thanks Kev! In all my drawings, I strive to incorporate some sort of emotion or story. Standalone, if possible. That is, i like to have my drawings be able to convey a concept just by the picture alone with minimal aid from the description. With this one, of course I wasn't able to include all the dialogue of the story in it, but I'm glad the tension of the picture got through to you. Creating an atmosphere for the viewer is one of the priorities in a picture for me.
And yes, Ulaya is a rp site. A bunch of us gather and write fan-stories in the lion king world. Are you familar with rp? I can explain it to you if you aren't

The only role playing I'm familiar with is of the video game variety, and even then I have only ever played a couple of RPGs. I know how those work, though. However, I'm not really familiar with the kind you do. Your little storyline seems interesting and suspenseful though.

So basically it's like different people contributing to the story through the perspective of their character.
eg.
Cool man (my charrie): *walks into a bar to order a beer*
Loser dude (another person's charrie): *hands over a beer and collects coins*
Cool man: *sips and listens to jukebox*
....

Seriously though, the shining source of light behind Firo's head as he walks is good. It's like an anime. When the char discovers something light pops out at the back of his head.

I did put rolling clouds in bbc. though not to that detail. it was done the same way however. LOOL yes halo around Firo's head when he realised his son was missing. Like anime? hmmmm, interesting.

Oh, I was rewatching the opening of LK and did you notice that Rafiki has a similiar, but brighter "halo" around his head when he walks towards Pride Rock? xD

This is an awesome picture, the clouds in the background look amazing and you did a nice job drawing out Firo, I kind of feel bad for what happened to him though.

Yes, actually Missteri is a panther. Firo took in a sandcat kitten and the panther thought he stole her daughter. it's a long story. if you're interested, you can read about it in Ulaya
