I think the moon theory is pretty cool too though I'd always written the blue streak off as he's an alchemist... and 14... I wouldn't put it past him to come up with some sort of hair die to try and look cool or somethin XD

I smell an unspoken desire for a redemption arc here.
Might as well jump on the opportunity.
Always thought that blue streak was just an odd design choice, and chalked it up to 'Making his shirt less distracting by applying the same colour someplace else', but this is far better.
There are some holes, like "Rapunzel got the sun drop through circumstances nearly impossible to reproduce, beigging the question 'How did the moon drop get to Varian?'" but makes for an interesting concept nonetheless.

I actually spent the whole day thinking about it. I think it might have to do with his passion for alchemy. I mean, the way he is, he's pretty much doomed to get the moondrop out of the black rocks in Korona. What he'll do with it after that is a whole another question.
Option a: Redemption arc.
Option b: Jumping down the slippery slope (or slowly sliding to the bottom, whichever you prefer).
I'm personally all up for fixing his life, but since then the series loose a pretty imprtant antagonist (and, let's face it, his mind is pretty unstable), b) seems more likely. Which kinda sucks, but it's kinda awesome at the same time, so... (Perks of having an awesome non-binary-alignment character.)

Even at the cost of ruining a character? I'd rather see Varian go evil than mediocre.

NO I'd Rather Him get his happy Ending Then that and it wouldn't be mediocre to me HE DOESN'T DESERVE THIS CRAP! I'V Had Enough Of His Suffering I don't usually feel this way about a Character But They can Wright a very well written Redemption Arc Remember Zuko From Avatar The Last AirbenderΒ

Zuko was pretty much set up for redemption, it just took him really long to get there and the authors to keep you in the dark.
But hey, these are all opinions.
And opinions were meant to differ.
At least we can be sure one of us is right. We just don't know which one yet.
And I can't wait for what comes next.

Look We're Not going to Agree with this I'm On Varians side I do Not See Him as Evil They Pushed him to this And All I want Is For Him To Be Happy. I can't stand to see him suffer if this was any other character I Might agree with You But Varian Is Different Β
