C.L didn’t stop for anything. His mare galloped over the same fields as they had passed a couple of minutes ago. He felt like he had to get away from Rosendal Manors, it was no proper place for him right now. He was grateful to Sara who had offered him a place to live, but he was no strayed dog you could take care off. He was his own, free. C.L didn’t stop until the sky was a little bit lighter.

He sat down from the mare and landed gracefully on the ground. He just stood there, with both his hands placed on the saddles front and back. He lowered his head and leaned it against the seat. He started to rub his forehead side to side slowly against it, trying to think.
His mare looked back at him. She gave away a small purring sound deep down in her trough. C.L turned around, took of his cape and through it over the mares back and leaned against her with one of his hands resting on the stirrup. He looked at her, she looked at him. He sighed. With a gentle gesture with his hand to the ground, the mare started to graze.

He stood there, looking around. He didn’t like what had happened. He had let a human come close to him, to close… far to close! He pounded against the saddle by anger and sank down to the ground. The mare didn’t bother, she was use to get a punch in the saddle. As long as it wasn’t she he punched.
C.L sat down, angry. He looked at the mare and as if he would have said “why?”.
The mare looked back at him “because” and continued to graze, uninterested in C.L. He hadn’t meant to do this. It was nothing he had planned. He was good on avoiding people, avoiding crowds, but why had this girl made him lowered his guard? And why had he squished her hand? What was it about this girl…“Kei“, he thought bitter sweet.

After the anger a new feeling came up to the surface, a warm feeling. She had been afraid of him, but when she was about to leave, she hesitated. She wanted him to come with her. He had never been offered something like that before, friendship… the feeling was to great for him to handle, so he had run away, in that way he was a coward.
She had wondered what the mares name was. He looked at her and caressed her neck. How could he ever explain for her what the mares name was. For once in his lifetime, he wished he could speak.
