Description
For my second kirigami I wanted to combine a simple template with a random frame but I made a mistake merging both templates and after cutting they ame out as two different pieces: owl and frame. I edited, printed and cut it again to get what would be my third kirigami K003 Framed Owlbashi , but I decided to reuse the owl piece with a different frame. My friend wolbashi encouraged me to try something different and more elaborated, so I decided to add colour. And this is the result. I finished it last November 24th.
Author of the model: Several authors. The author of the owl template is Gemma Crossley, the person behind the web Digital Gems. I added myself the flower and the text in the sign. The frame was not designed as a papercut but as a clipart image and I don't know its author. I edited it with the Gimp to turn it in a papercut template.
Template: The owl can be purchased at the web Digital Gems. Frame was found using Google Images. The original frame had different proportions.
Info: 4 sheet of A4 paper, around 100 pieces or more. Printed in 180gsm cardstock. The papercut measures around 19x23 cm.
This work has 4 layers. The first layer is composed by two pieces of cardstock: owl and frame. The second layer is the colour layer. It is composed by around a hundred tiny pieces of paper of different colours cut out from thin cardstock and paper. This second layer was a painstakingly slow process. Third layer is one piece of paper and it is the blue paper that serves as background. Finally, the fourth layer is another cardstock of the same colour as the frame and became the back of this papercut work.

I don't have problems with trying a more difficult pattern, but it won't be coloured. I am not so masochist! Or at least I will try some trick to make easier cutting the coloured parts.
I want to do some papercut alike stained glass. I need to find an appropriate pattern.
Thanks for the kind comment. In fact, thanks for the critique and comments in all my papercuts.

Yes, the stained glass project would be something like that, but the idea (pssst, sikrit, don't tell anybody) is using coloured cellophane instead of coloured paper. It would be tedious and difficult to glue using only the edges to not stain with glue the cellophane.
Maybe in some months...

Thanks.
It required a lot of work with Gimp on the template and then the hundred tiny pieces.
I hope to publish my last papercut (for now) this week.
