It really is nice and one of the things that keeps me here. I went back again yesterday but the cats just weren't as cooperative as last week. If you ever make it out to Nebraska, you really should see it!

I told my husband about it...and that I want to go there..ha ha...he was like "Nebraska?" What the heck is THERE? ha ha...I told him...TIGERS!!!!

He was like..Ohhhhh....okay.

I just looked at our zoo website..and OH MY GOODNESS!! Look!!!!

On January 19, Zoo New England announced that two tiger cubs, seized in a sting operation by US Fish and Wildlife special agents, will make their permanent home at Franklin Park Zoo in a new exhibit to open in June 2006. The cubs, a female Bengal mix and a white male, are presently in a standard 30-day quarantine period at the Zoo hospital, after which they will move to a behind-the-scenes area until their new exhibit opens in late spring.

“While we had no immediate plans to exhibit tigers at the Zoo, these cubs were in dire need of a permanent home and we were in a position to provide one,” said John Linehan, Zoo New England’s President and CEO.

Female Anala and male Luther were confiscated when special agents from US Fish and Wildlife Services posing as private sector buyers were able to purchase the cubs from the sanctuary they were living at.

The tigers will allow the Zoo to educate guests about the problems that arise when exotic animals fall into the wrong hands and the misinformation that surrounds white tigers.

Look for periodic updates on Franklin Park Zoo’s latest residents and visit them at their new exhibit in June 2006!

I know!! She LOVES our cats and dogs, so when she sees all the BIG cats, she will go nuts, plus she will almost be one by then..so I think she will really get a kick out of it!
