Description “No mortal ear could have heard the kelpie passing through the night, for the great black hooves of it were as soundless in their stride as feathers falling.”

I love Ciri's outfit here!  And that's such an adorable picture!  I haven't read up to the part with Kelpie yet - I thought she has a unicorn named Iquarrax, no?  But that's a beautiful horse!

Thank you! She has a unicorn named Ihuarraquax, but first she has her mare Kelpie

You're welcome!

Really?  That's lovely   I didn't know she had a horse.  Did they have a similar relationship to Geralt and Roach?  Ciri is a big sap, but no one can beat Geralt at the big sap game, in comparison she's a tough cookie, so I don't know if she'd be quite as attached to her horse, on the other hand, she's very attached to Ihuarraquax, at least as far as I can tell by they way they are portrayed in art (she rescued him, didn't she?) I hope she didn't leave Kelpie when she got her unicorn though . . . is that a big spoiler?
And in what book does she get her horse?  I was spoiled for Blood of Elves and a little for Time of Contempt - I know she and Geralt get separated and then after that her life becomes terrible . . . but I don't think she got a witcher horse before then, she was about 12, no?

Yes, they did have very close relationship. I think Kelpie was much more then just a horse for Ciri! Even more than Roach for Geralt. She was her best companion and friend, after Ciri "left"(don't want left spoiler here) her Rats gang. She didn't leave Kelpie for Unicorn, actually they'll travel together quite some time Ciri get her horse in The Tower of the Swallow as I recall correct.

Aw!!! That's so sweet!!!  I am happy she didn't leave Kelpie.  Even though I know that there's a cool story of how Ciri meets  Ihuarraquax I thought it was kind of stereotypical for her to be a princess/witcher/sorceress with her own unicorn, you know? I read on TV tropes that its because she's supposed to represent the Holy Grail and the Witcher story is supposed to somewhat reflect Arthurian legend, which makes sense given that the last book is called The Lady of the Lake, but I would be sad if she had a horse and left her for the newer, better model . . .

I can't wait to read that because that's going to be adorable but its sad that her only friend is her horse! Its more from the video games but I had the impression that even though Ciri travels solo and is really independent like that she has lots of friends, but I also heard she's a lot more peppy and cheerful in the video game than she is in the book. (although, as of Blood of Elves, she's pretty much every Polish kid ever - my mom told me almost the same story as Geralt told Ciri, at least the beginning part - the cat walking, and walking - except that it wasn't a cat walking but a shepherd carrying his sheep across a bridge and he had a tonne of them . . . my response was the same as Ciri's - don't think I'll fall asleep before he's done When I read that I was like "oh poor Andrzej Sapkowski, he must have been subjected to the same 'bedtime story'" )

I know a bit of the Rats story - she called herself Falka when she traveled with them and she was in love with one of them (the leader I think. I can't remember the name for the life of me but I think she was named after a plant?  Mistle?) But I don't know the whole of it . . . that's what I was spoiled for lol

How much I like your technique.....due to it - the picture looks so dramatic/ The horse is incredible. I like that tender moment between the horse and Ciri (the details of the gloves - great!)

Wonderful. I've seen your work across the web even before the games got popular. Amazing that you still make art that reflects the books more than the games.
