Well mike, what can I say? Your images are so unique; at least the way you paint your images are. The way you paint is so original, it leaves a distinct impression in my mind. I like the rough details and shadows displayed in the background. It shows a more rugged side to flowers, specifically the rose; which is both soft and dangerous all at once. You seem to always have an epic vision...honestly I wish I had your skill to paint like that. You are an amazing painter. Question though, what was your inspiration for it? Once again, I really like the roughness of the style with a traditionally tender motive - it gives the painting so much personality! Your rose gives off that strong vibe of ambivalenve between beauty and danger, even without showing a single thorn, which I find quite admirable. It surely grasps the concept of a red rose as a symbol for passion - both in a loving, positive way and in the darker, violent one. Superb!
Also, did you intend the heart-shape for the rose's outer shape and also in the petals? I found it to be a lovely composition detail.
