oh woops haha
In the picture on the bottom right, in the background, it says "prom" in rainbow letters on the poster. There's a musical called The Prom about a lesbian couple trying to get the rights of going to their school prom, and I thought it fit with the theme of the comic! ^w^

Huh! I'm surprised my partner has never told me about this musical!
...maybe she did though and I wasn't listening. That is a distinct possibility! ^_^;

I really appreciate these types of comics. If you're on Facebook, do you wanna post some of these types of comics in my group? It's called Best Comebacks Against Anti-Queer Bigotry.
I always have to resist the urge to post tons of DeviantArt stuff on it. It's always better to ask for permission.

It's okay to be yourself, always! Especially if who you are changes from month to month, week to week, or day to day! ^__^

To each their own! My brother is so opposed to facial hair of any kind he shaves his face every day. Refuses to have any kind of hair on his face whatsoever.
So yeah you're entitled to your opinion just as long as you don't impose it on others ^_^

A lot of it is exaggeration and posturing. Might as well be bullfrogs croaking.

This deviation spoke to me. It is comforting to hear from those who have to be hesitant also. I come from a hyper-conservative family and I know that I can never come out to them without risking being disowned. And I can't afford that due to very fragile settings where I need to remain part of the family. I hate hiding things but at the same time I feel it's the only way I can do things. I express myself far away from my family and even at that I sometimes don't get treated well. I can't always express my pride but it makes me really happy to know I don't have to. (I often feel like perhaps I'm not "queer enough" because of my lack of ability to express my queerness).

I'm so glad this provided some comfort.
With so many out and proud people in our community it can be easy to forget how many of us aren't there just yet.
I'm sorry to read that your family situation prevents you from being yourself. I understand why you're still in hiding.
Just remember, you actually *can*choose your family. They may not be the family you grew up with, or those that raised you?
But so many of us queer kids will move away and find family elsewhere in a drag queen, a neighbor, or someone in the same position.
So while you might not be able to be completely out of the closet now? I think that should be a goal of yours.
I also felt that I could keep quiet forever, but the truth is that I couldn't. Living with that weight on your shoulders is unsustainable.
Hope things work out for you! <3
