Description

Developed in the aftermath of World War II by Mikhail Kalashnikov and entering service in the Soviet Army in 1949, the AK-47 (and it's many successors, copies and derivatives) have become some of the most iconic rifles in history and has been found in many conflicts around the world for the last 60 years due to it's reliability, ease of use and sheer simplicity. From conscripts in Europe and Asia all the way to terrorists and rebels in 3rd world countries, to Viet Cong fighters in the thick jungles of Vietnam to criminals and robbers in the streets of Chicago and LA. This weapon has seen it all. Shown here is a 1955 'Type III' model that was produced up until 1959 with the introduction of the AKM .
