I know the fun of trying to get your camera to do things properly while freezing to death. Hahaha. Gorgeous shot, though!

Infinity focus? - Any lens can focus on infinity. The 10-22mm will not produce sharper images at f3.5 - Use f8-f9, focus on the tree tops and everthing will be in focus (unless you're shaking, then use a tripod).

my kit lens wont focus at all and its to dark to do manual focus
its not the sharpness im looking for, just to get the sky and starts in focus and then rest of the image will look better.. correct me if im wrong, im new at this

I agree with rav777. I read this somewhere, and have used it a couple of times myself with decent results, try:
β€’Putting the lens on manual focus
β€’Assuming you are behind the camera turn the focus anti clockwise (to the left)
β€’Then turn it very slightly clockwise

The third point being that the lens will actually go behind infinity in some circumstance (something to do with manufactor processes/tolerances/temperature reasons).

I beleive I was googling something along the lines of "how to focus on infinity" when I read that. Apologises in advance if my memory is a bit off

ok. Thanks.

I read this on a website: "You can't simply turn the focus ring to its stops for infinity focus" Source: [link] So I though I had to get a new lens with the infinity markings on. But needed a 10-22 for landscapes this summer, so it wasn't a waste of money

but thanks for the feedback Appreciate it

No worries at all, a 10-22 is a great lens to have personally.
