Thank you - you're right of course. Looking at it now I should definitely have worked more colours into the shadows and added more differing shades of greens/yellows!

This is great, I'm no professional but I feel like this image presents clearly the essentials of [landscape] painting, and puts them together in an really imaginative way. I like the use of cool/warm colour and the composition, very easy on the eye and thus adds to the serenity of the rising sun.
I shall reference this image to practice these skills myself at some point, I'm sure
