how'd you get so many dots?!?!?

Seen from the other comments that this took only 2H to render. What beast of a PC do you have?!

I was just rendering 100 samples which don't take that long (I think I had been using a Nvidia Geforce GTX 560Ti when I made this)
Since the lighting was extremely simple, 100 samples were sufficient to create a noise-free render.

Ok, I have a GTX 970 and I can not even render water because it runs out of memory.

Really? Well that sounds like something is wrong with your render settings. Or your polycount may be too high.

Could I maybe transfer the file to you via wetransfer so you could tell me what's wrong. For that I would need your email.

Can you upload it to mediafire.com , mega.nz or dropbox?

Okay in your case the problem is, that you have a refractive object (the droplet) taking up all your image space. Glass shaders are slow to render, especially when they take up such a large portion of the image.

Kkhal In reply to K4VE [2015-07-13 11:23:31 +0000 UTC]

So I should make the droplet smaller and further away from the camera? What about the poly count as you suggested, or maybe the render settings are wrong?

K4VE In reply to Kkhal [2015-07-13 15:46:42 +0000 UTC]

Poly count was about 16,000, which should be peanuts for a GTX 970. Also the render settings seemed fine, at least I couldn't identify any problems there. So yeah, moving the droplet away or making it smaller should solve your problem.

Ok thank you very much for your guidance, I will make the droplet smaller and see if it works from there.

this looks awesome! how can I put the frames in to a gif pic? do I need a video converter?

I use Photoshop CS6 Extended to put them into a gif, but are also free programs on the internet

Good looking !

I tried molecular but can't understand how its work. Did you figured out yourself how it works or do you find any tutorial? Didn't find any

Thanks
