Just interested in knowing why you choose to paint in this position? Very interesting!

I am interested in the situations that you may find someone pressed against a floor or other surface. I love the potential in this pose from connotations of of intimacy to almost a morbid feeling... I also like the slight distortion on the face in this pose. Expressions that are subtle intrigue me the most.

......a beautiful silver line or frame around another confronting portrait. Your layering is so wonderful Kabbeko. Can you share your thoughts about these works?

I am working with combining levels of realism and abstraction by exposing layers in my paintings. I want to experiment will varying degrees of both. I am not the best at explaining my work to others. Though I am constantly trying to push the concepts in my paintings, I have trouble verbalizing. I so envy those who speak and write so skillfully and beautifully (like you.) If I think of a good way to explain it a bit better I will let you know.

Good Luck Kabbeko. It has been so interesting to watch your journey.....you are certainly working through some interesting levels of surface presentation. They are so confronting and emotive. The eyes speak of strength and soul. Perhaps yearning or confrontation. The dissolving outer body with all the beautiful stresses of line is also wonderful...I look forward to seeing where you take it.
