Description

Byron sent Bo on a mission: This is what happened.

To Sooth him, its worth it.

As he left the area where Mavro, Byron and Zepplin were laying. Bo sighed softly, this was not going to be easy. Gather medicine? Painkillers? Alone? Maybe Byron thought him capable, because as of late the boy had shown his colors and they were strong. He slipped from the front of the compound and down the dirt road leading towards the city. He had moxie, that much was more then clear lately..

Each step he took farther from home was a step he was determined to take. Mavro needed help and he wouldn't stop until he had gotten it! Finally to the Trieste border he narrowed his eyes down the line, seeing the invisible marks that had been left and turned to the right to follow it quietly until he was as close to the city as he could get without trespassing. Ordine was a single paw to the right, Trieste a paw to his front. And Vernice so far behind him..

With a shake of his head he placed his paw forward and began to walk, mustering the courage to be alone. His first stop was a simple, easy place that he had simply happened upon. With a tilt of his head he smirked when he saw it. A slender, young teenager moving down the road, alone. He didn't even think about it before he did it. He needed that bag more then the kid did. Lunging forward from behind a city trash bin he grabbed the back of it, shocking the child!

The teenager spun around, his pack coming loose from his shoulders as he played tug-o-war with Bo for the longest time. Yelling and kicking at him before Bo lunged once more, aiming to nip at him but not actually trying to get him. The teen leapt back, dropped his bag, then contents flying just about everywhere and ran.

Bo snorted and scoffed happily, then, with a bit of trouble, eased his body into the straps of the pack, leaning down as if to nibble upon his own belly but stopped close enough to grab the straps, tightening them with his mouth until he was sure the bag was going no where soon.

He took off once more. The sun having faded by the time he managed to tighten the damn straps about his arms and shoulders. This wasn't going to be easy. Not with running on three legs. The shredded meat in his back thigh was still burning and aching with every step he took. But- No one seemed to notice his pain so why would he? His face and neck ached and stabbed at him aswell, from the female capo attacking him at the border skirmish. But he sure showed her, didn't he?

He kept his nose down as he sniffed along the ground now, finally finding the spot from the nights prior, when they had gotten the pavro vaccines. Where he had taken the liberty to get flea meds and treats, another thing he had done that had gone without thanks. They say you do things just to do them because its the right thing to do. But sometimes, thankless acts become tiresome and one does often forget what they are fighting for...

He had even captured a spy and not a single word of goodness had been uttered in his direction. He wondered, quietly what would happen if he just said screw it, and stopped taking the liberty the imitative to push himself, to do things that mattered.

He just had to do things for himself it seemed like. Because of himself. Finish your mission Bo, like a good soldier and keep quiet.. If he wanted to be respected, he'd just as soon have to respect himself, because it wasn't coming from anywhere else, as hard as he pushed himself. He should be sleeping, he should be resting off his wounds... Not gallivanting through the city..

He sighed faintly, it didn't matter, did it? He finally reached the vet's office where they had been nights prior and stopped when he noticed a padlock on the doggy door beyond the fence he had climbed before. Well shit.. He turned around, looking from window to window, each one was locked and shut with the curtains drawn. He huffed out an annoyed snarl before a sound to his right caught his attention. It sounded.. It sounded like a screeching animal, like it was in trouble!

He turned and ran for the noise, spotting two teenagers.. Wow they were all over the place, weren't they? They were hitting, poking and kicking at an adolescent raccoon. Tempted to leave the creature to its fate but, something pulled within his heart when he saw the poor critter get struck in the head with a rock, his face bleeding across the nose. He snarled and darted forward.

Sliding across the pavement he'd come to a halt in front of the coon. Hunkered down as he snarled and growled at the kids, ears pressed back against his skull as he snarled. Barked and lunged here and there, standing in front of the poor critter. The kids swung at Bo. But he leapt to the side and wrapped his muzzle around the stick, shaking the stick as hard as he could, ripping it from the kids arms. A quick, solid bite to his calf had the boys running for dear life.

With a snort and a nod, Bo would call after them, even if they didn't understand and it would just be barking to them, ”Thats right! Get out of here! And don't come back!” He was surprised though, when something oh so delicate wrapped its arms around his leg in a gentle hug..

He looked down to see the coon with gentle, soft paws around his from leg. He smiled as the critter held him tightly, silently saying thank you. Bo leaned down and licked a little blood from the raccoon's muzzle before he moved to walk off.

He was followed. Oh lord. He stopped when he heard the little pitter patter from the scarred creature behind him. He laughed softly as he continued to try and follow him. He pursed his lips in thought. He could use a friend on his mission, could use the raccoons little hands to help with his zippers and such... He nodded his head to the coon and smiled, ”Come on then.. Cant leave you out here all alone..”

The critter made a rolling chirp noise and padded after him quickly. Bo smiled and walked in front of him. ”I'm on a mission. To get a bunch of stuff can you keep up ok?” The coon nodded. ”Whats your name?” The coon made a noise which caused Bo to laugh! Uhg he didn't speak raccoon! ” I'll just call you Teke, ok?” A nod from the coon was all he needed to know the name was okay.

So here they were, Bo and Teke. On a whirlwind adventure! Wee! Ahem, anyway. Making their way down the street Bo was flabbergasted at the amount of time he had lost going to the Vet's office and then helping the coon. He needed to get a move on.

He didn't know where else to go now. He honestly didn't have a clue! But a sigh and he was turning down a road he hadn't been down in a long time..

It took several hours.. But he made it. To the soft grass and gentle landscape of his old neighborhood.

Bark bark bark! Thats what greeted him, a very angry doberman in his face made him stop. ”Bo...Bo! Oh man bo!” The Dobe said, his anger falling once he noticed who it was, ”We all thought you were dead!”

“Man I might as well of been.”

” You look like shit, man.. Where you been?”

”Griz.. I'm a god damn stray now! They threw me away.. But I'm in a pack. So.. I'll be alright.. But uhm.. I was wondering.. “ He nuzzled against the Dobe, ”My Alpha got hurt and I need some pain killers. Is Keeva's owner still take all those pills?”

”Are you kidding me, Kid? He's worse now. His wife left him already and took the kids. Lets go see him.” Bo nodded to Griz and they moved down the street, Teke tucked into Bo's backpack, obviously too pooped to poop after having walked so many hours.

”What happened to your leg, bro?”

”Got shot.”

”Aint you a badass.” Bo chuckled and shook his head when they reached Keeva's place. The dog greeted them silently.

”Wazzap guys?” The Golden retreiver asked, head cocked to the side. ”Bo'baby! You look fab.. sorta. You.. yeah okay you look like hell.”

Bo laughed once more and pawed at Keeva's face. ”Shut up, ass. I need pills.. As many as you can get me.”

”Okay ok.. Hold up bro.” Keeva left. And then, after several long moments he came out with two bottles between his teeth, ”Tell whoever takes these not to take more then one or two at a time. When Master takes too many? Yo.. He uh, he don't wake up for a while and pukes everywhere. Then screams. Its loud. “ Peeva moved to place the bottles in the backpack but two small hands creeped out to take them, slowly and a soft, ”Thank you.” Was heard from inside the pack before the hands vanished.. ”The...fuck.”

”Thats my new buddy, Teke. Don't mind him.” Bo smiled, moving to nuzzle his two old friends. ”Griz, does your master have booze? I also need some gauze and antibiotic cream. Like they put on my ear that one time and Mitzy licked it off?”

”Follow me. Bo.” Griz said. Saying his goodbyes to Peeva he'd nuzzle him before turning to follow Griz to his house. Once there they both moved inside, concidering Griz's owner was passed out drunk on the couch.

Bo moved over and nosed a couple bottles of Barcadi, getting Griz to assist in placing them in the bag with the adolescent coon. Griz's owner was an emt! That was a good thing. So, Teke needed to get out of the pack. Moving to Griz's owners bag he'd nose in it and point out a few things for the raccoon to place in the bag. ”All this shit, please.” Teke did instantly as he was told, stuffing the bag full of wrappings, bandages, saline, cleaning swabs and more.

Bo leaned over to softly press his nose to Griz's own, nuzzling into him after, ”I have to get back..”

”Yo, Bo.. Wait.. Uhh.. If you head north some more? To the bad side of town theres a dog there that'll give you some nassstty shit for pain, works on anything. Makes humans fuckin' dumb as all hell. If you give him some fresh meat, maybe something a little more.. He'd get you some.”

Bo nodded, ”Thanks.. Whats he look like..?”

”Pink.”

”Pink?”

”You'll know him when you see him..” Griz paused and looked over, ”Uh Bo? Be carefull.”

It was a good forty five minutes later that Bo finally found whom he was looking for. Pink was right! A grumpy, dreaded, pink dog was staring him in the face. He had left Teke a few houses back in a tree for safe keeping. Because Griz had warned him of this dogs temper and urge to eat fresh meat.

”Wha'cha' want, bitch?” The dog snorted at him, tilting his head.

”Uhm.. I heard you.. Have certain things that make pain go away..” Bo took a step back, lowering himself a bit. This dog... he was covered in scars, he looked like he could throw down if he had too. And probably did it just for fun from what he had heard from Grix.

”Yeh bitch.. I got what'chu need. But you gotta gimmie a lil' summin' summin' too. Ya' dig?”

No Bo did not did. He tilted his head to the side and looked the dog over. ”Mmm.. yes? What do you need?”

”Well. Firs' off. I want some fuckin' fresh meat. Tired of this dog food shit. Iight? When yo' ass gets back with that? Then one more thing.. No go.”

Bo turned and reached into his pack, tossing a dead rabbit towards Kaz with a smile..

”Thought of everything' didn' ya?” Bo nodded as he looked Kaz over, proud of himself. ”Iight.. now. ..”

Well what happened next wasn't forced, and to be bluntly honest it was a nice, fun break in his trip. He and Kaz well, they slipped into the doghouse for some time. It was embarrassing, and made him feel dirty after. Kaz had a mouth on him too, woooo wee.

Now.. Now he was finally on his way home! He had to stop though, for several hours to rest and eat and drink on the way home, so he didn't fall over dead! Jeez.

He could see it in the distance, twenty four hours had passed since he had been home and he was finally there. Stinky, smelly, tired, worked. He moved through the compound and finally pushed his way into Mavro's room. Teke riding on his shoulders...
