I agree with the first commenter. It's a nice background all right, and I especially like the backlight effect and the highlights on the landscape, but the atmosphere of battle doesn't really convey. All I see is the person firing his/her gun, and even that is difficult to see in the middle of all that background clutter. Maybe it'd help if you put in more movement and action? I mean, the robot is just standing there and doing nothing in particular. It's just way too static for a battle scene.

What you need is a focus point. Everything is so detailed that the eye doesn't really know where to look, and that is distracting. Perhaps you could play with the lighting so we could instead focus on the two characters in the middle of the picture instead? Or crop out some of the picture so the characters would appear larger?

Anyway, from that previous robot pic I see how much you've improved with painting, and that's great. Just keep on going!

First of all thanks
I'm happy with the lighting as well.
You are right though in saying that I should use it to focus on certain points.

I can see your point on it being to static for a action scene, however it is a "standoff" at least sort of. The one lonely guy is firing up his gun at the thing without really having a chance. The bullets will probably just bounce off the armour and as soon as the mechs minigun has fired up it will tear through the cover.
The whole situation is as desolate as the suroundings and in a moment the existance of the guy will be meaningless. A battle between these two won't exactly last for long.

The background is ok, in my opinion. Maybe the battle scene is too 'quite'. I know, it wont easy
