Description
This is my character which ive been working on for a long time. hes changed alot throughout the the years. As far as i know his name is Raika. until i think of something more appropriote. lol (Mariusz? Ducard? Arsen? Grove? Vladimir?lol Ideas are always welcome
)This is my very first attempt at digital painting something so detailed and life like. Ive been working on it on and off for the last few days. i still have to finish it off and give him a body n all but considering i havent posted something for soo bloody long i thought i might get around to it. anyways idd love to have some comments and feed back cause idd like to know how i can improve!!

Me likey likey your worky worky. Nice clean brush strokes and the highlights on the face come up really nicely. Did you smudge at all or did you just use different tones with the airbrush?

i used just the normal circle brush with a very low opacity and did a shit load of eye dropping and painting! haha

Nice. I've only just recently started painting with my wacom and already my Express keys are crapping themselves from all the eye-dropping lol. Do you use Photoshop or Painter?

This is in no doubt very well done. You seem to get the general proportions down very well and that you even went lengths to incorporate some of your own style.

His face seems totally constructed out of grit and angles... I like it! Pretty awesome how you were able to balance realistic rendering and a unique style.
If you want some advice I'd say to add some more dimension to his features; increase the contrast in your shadows and reference photos for the lighting. But don't lose the energy of stylization--it seems to be key to the presentation here.

I stand in awe of its brilliance. Trully. Very very nicely painted, I thought was real. Again its cause of your attention to the detail, the shading and highlighting on the nose to give it the depth and around the eyes to give it that shadow beneath them. And the way all the colours blend smoothly so that it does look like a photo.
Now i'm gonna be suspicious of you PSing photos to make yourself look better

BAM! first time i saw it i thought it was a photo! looks so dam brilliant, cant wait to see what u do with ya tablet next. now that iv found mine again ill try to get back into doing some digital painting aswell, hope ya can pass on some of those tips n tricks to me

Other then that, it is awesome. Best advice i could give for photo realism would be add more detail around the eye's and cheeks, and dont gorget that trick using the eraser tool and Emboss.

about givin him a body be careful, brush up on ur anatomy first, theres nothin worse than adding stuff to a great work an having the added stuff being the biggest let down. anatomy is hard, practise practise practise, u seem to have the face down. lets see the rest. since i know fuck all about digital painting i think thats all i can say. peace biaiaiATCH

since i commented along its development you basicaly allready know what i think but essentially its brilliant, an incredible effort and just generally one of the better pieces of digital painting that ive ever seen. Tackle a absolute photoreal subject or a speed paint next id say! You seem to have this dialed.
