Remember when I said Kanade didn't make a contract with Kyuubey [link] ? It was with this guy.

So this is Hachibey. I figure if there's a Kyuubey and a Juubey, then the logical next would be Hachibey (kyuu being 9, juu being 10 and hachi being 8)...because juuichibey (11) takes too long to say. D:
Hachibey speaks in the third person, and s/he's not...as much of a jerk as Kyuubey. While s/he's not going to tell you s/he's about to rip out your soul and eventually turn you into a witch, s/he's so nice as to word it as "Hachibey will grant you any wish - anything you want at all - but in exchange you'll have to fight for that wish everyday for the rest of your life." Usually, this would be followed by something along the lines of, "Woa, there's nothing I want so badly as to risk my life for it..." but Hachibey has a knack for finding desperate girls with big dreams and not enough of -something- to make them happen.
For example, Kanade was a loner who feared nothing more than death, but...was not God...and so could not avoid it. Her fear was so great that she'd risk her life to live forever. Tah-dah. Mahou shoujo.

So, is there something you can find the strength to fight for? ;D

Oh! Also~ Because of a theory I read about Kyuubey being evil based on the fact that s/he had "ears coming out of his ears," Hachibey has tails coming out of his tails (even though they're more like...from her spine...).
