These are beautiful works! So detailed and well-designed. The stone texture really makes it, and I love the way you've done the clouds. The whole thing is just superb!

Thank you.. actually, that's not stone! That's rice paper.. A friend of mine got me some from an art supply store, and I scanned it just for the texture.

I love the concept of the tree through the seasons. It's an idea that has been used elsewhere, but with the addition of the knotwork the idea becomes fresh again! Your picture weaves the seasons together beautifully.
Very Nice work.

Thank you.. I think the tree is the most easily symbolized object one can use for seaons because it carries such a different look for each one.

You're welcome. I don't go for the japanese cartoons or anything I just like the styleized clouds and such.

Wow! I feel like I'm watching your evolution. Your designs are getting so complex and sophisticated (yet remain so vibrant) Hint: If you make a print of that, I would buy it in a heart beat.

Thank you.. I probably should have done a different design for each season, but the whole point is the changelessness of each sequence. We have different dressings that fall upon the same base-ness.. and I wanted it to be very clearly stylized line art.
The spanish just seemed appropriate and much more lyrical than first, second, etc.. If I'd thought a little harder, I'd probably would have used Latin. Dang.. may change that.
I'm glad you see the sentimentality of it... I've always admired the beauty in the changing of the seasons.. and tried to pay close attention to it.. and I rather enjoyed doing summer, even though I'm like you.. really can't stand the season itself.

That's very cool. Some variation in the border detail aside from color might have added something, but overall it's a nice piece of work. Great work.
