In 1999, Godzilla attacked Tateyama during a massive hurricane. A small JSDF division was called in to handle the king with nothing more than tanks and masers. The battle may have been short, but was devestating to one, Lieutenant Akane Yashiro. Months after the battle, scientists and biologists were called into to an undisclosed location in Japan. There they met face-to-face with the skeletal remains of the first Godzilla. The bones, recovered off the Boso Peninsula, were to be used by the Diet to extract an inter-spinal cell from the bones and fused with a controlled mitosis. The bones were then used as a base for a weaponised, metal exoskeleton. Including the designs from the previous Godzilla mechas. Four years passed since then and the final completion of the new Mechagodzilla had gone from fiction to fact: Kiryu. The machine protector had been fitted with missile/rocket launchers and arm mounted laser cannons. Out of all the powerful armaments, it's most powerfull weapon was undoubtedly the Absolute Zero Cannon in it's chest, capable of freezing anything into oblivion. The prime objective of this bio-robot was nothing more then the pure destruction of Godzilla, but Kiryu had a mission of his own...

The day of Godzilla's return from his battle with the Megaguirus had finally come in 2002, but Japan was ready. The Lieutenat had been placed incharge of operating Kiryu's systems from the one of the control jets, Shirasagi. Kiryu soon landed and was prepared for battle. Kiryu started things off with a barrage of lasers, missiles and rockets, only to leave Godzilla unphased. Fortunately it's Twin Maser Cannon's seamed to have had an effect on Godzilla. The King of the Monsters then roared out loud, so loud, then something deep within Kiryu began to stir. The memories and visions of the H-Bomb, 1954, Tokyo, the Oxygen Destroyer, they began to fill the mind and soul of Kiryu, until the beast remembered who he was. Akane prepared the Absolute Zero, but didn't respond at all. Godzilla fled the scene before anything else could happen, leaving Kiryu standing. Before any action could be made Kiryu lashed out at his operators and began acting on his own! His yellow eyes had turned blood red and roared like the King of the Monsters he knew his was, only know, he had become even more powerful then ever before. The Shirasagis were braught down with no casualties to be reported. The Kiryu Squardren could only watch helplessly know as Kiryu began putting the city through the shredder. Any attempt at trying to control Kiryu at the main base was futile, until something was being trasmitted form Kiryu, a message. The message finally ended up on screen and said...

...REVENGE WILL BE MINE.

Hours passed and Kiryu, now turned Godzilla, had destroyed half the city around him. Finally though, Kiryu's main power battery had run it's charge, leaving Kiryu powerless.

After which, it was revealed that the cells in Kiryu's body had awaken dorment memories from the first Godzilla within his cybernitic mind. But whatever the case, Kiryu was put on halt until things could be worked out. Days later though, Godzilla attacked again and began leaving a wake of devistation in his path. No JSDF froces could halt the titans wrath. With no other alternative, Kiryu, now fixed, had been put back in the ring to fight Godzilla. Akane, know acting as one with Kiryu, launched the cyborg at Godzilla, and the two monsters's locked horns and shook the city with there battle. When Godzilla was down, Kiryu and Akane attempted to end the battle with the Absolute Zero, with Godzilla blasted away from him and began smashing Kiryu so badely that he couldn't be controled from the ship, so Akena, with Godzilla being distracted by maser fire, managed to get into Kiryu's manual overdrive systems and pilot him from the inside. Akane managed to get Kiryu out to see while holding Godzilla's mouth closed and preparing the Absolute Zero. Underwater, the two attacks explode beneath the waves creating a massive tower of ice that soon shattered from the two beasts rising, but baddly wounded. Godzilla had taken a massive injury to his chest and Kiryu's right arm and Absolute Zero Cannon had been destroyed and all his power had been exhausted. As Godzilla swam off with Kiryu and Japan watching the bittersweet stalemate.

2003, one year after Godzilla and Kiryu's battle. Over 37% of the cyborg had been greately damaged from the battle. Even so, Japan now had a defender who had proven to be an equal match for Godzilla. But there was an even bigger problem involving Kiryu then they had realized,

That night, at the cottage of Shin'ichi Chūjō, the Elias, who had returned to Earth months ago, had met up with there old friend to deliver a message to him and his grandchildren Yoshito, who happened to be a machanic of Kiryu, and Shun. They told them that if the bones of the first Godzilla were not put back to rest, Mothra would declare war on mankind. But if Kiryu was braught back to the sea and Godzilla did return agian, Mothra would protect Japan. After delivering the message, the Elias and Mothra, pirched on a mountain, headed off, leaving a small amulet with the Elias symbol on it.

Though Chūjō attempted to warn the Prime Minister, the message was taken as a thought of suicide, what with no Kiryu to protect Japan. Soon enough though, Godzilla, with a scar now on his chest, returned to Japan, drawn by the bones of Kiyru. Chūjō's youngest grandson, Shun, had used the amulet to create a larger version of the symbol on the grounds of the now abandoned school with chairs and soon called Mothra to Japan. Mothra did try to convince Godzilla of leaving Japan, but didn't listen and began a destructive battle with Mothra.

Soon enough, Kiryu was called back in, only this time with a Triple Hyper Maser, since repairs had to be done double time with Godzilla on the attack. Mothra was losing the battle fast and began a desperate scale attack on Godzilla, which soon exploded across most of Tokyo. On Infant Island, an egg of Mothra's had soon hatched by the song of the Elias, reaveling twins that began charged to Japan to help their mother.

Kiryu soon met Godzilla again and erupted in an epic rematch that soon ended with Kiryu down and with one eye partially damaged. Yoshito was soon called in to help repair Kiryu and headed to the manual controls to repower Kiryu. Meanwhile, Mothra's offspring had arrived and began to help their injured mother. Godzilla prepared his Atomic Ray on the insects, only for Mothra to take the full blunt of Godzilla's force, killing her, leaving her children to defend Japan and defeat Godzilla together.

With Godzilla distracted by the Mothra twins, Yoshito had managed to get Kiryu back on his feet and begin fighting Godzilla agian. Kiryu had managed to use his new drill to open the wound on the Monster King's chest and blasted it with both his twin and triple Masers. Godzilla's roar of pain soon bonded with the bones of Kiryu and caused his soul to take over agian. Godzilla was soon cocooned by the Mothra twins webs, wrapping him up. Kiryu, once again turned Godzilla, saw his kin before, truly defeated and did not wish to continue the battle any further. Revenge was know the furthest thing from his mind, all he wanted now was what he always wanted from the begining, to be left in peace. Without delay, Kiryu restrained his former foe and took off with him to the sea. Unfortunately, Yoshito was still inside Kiryu's control room and needed to get out and fast. Strangly, Kiryu seemed to assist with helping Yoshito and opened the door for him. Before leaving, Kiryu bid his mechanic one final farewell by displaying the following message on one of its display terminals: "Sayonara Yoshito", and Yoshito replied: "Sayonara...Gojira". Yoshito escaped just as Kiryu and Godzilla hit the water. Both titans plunged further and further into the inky black abyss of the Japan Trench. The souls of both Godzilla and the dead had finally been put to rest.
