Had to do this one for fun, OLD SCHOOL poster in Japanese! Just to field all the inevitable questions, the characters are Japanese "replacements" for the Brody family and Serizawa of course, and the Japanese reads, roughly, "Kaiju Battle of the Century! I really get the feeling that someone on the design team really wanted to see a Godzilla Vs Cloverfield.....
Muto seems (to me) to be designed as just a more streamlined version of Cloverfield.
Ah well...still looking forward to this flick.

Sadly Edwards stated what design inspirations he took for lots of the creature's attributes, which are very distracting to me now, but yeah the leaked footage made Muto look so Cloverfield in its movements that it was really, really hard to not be distracted by that fact. But I agree, I'm going in to enjoy myself and hopefully the Clover factor won't bother me by movie's end.

That Godzilla Asia trailer really plays this illustration up a lot. Really emphasizes that "versus" type of feel for the movie. But yeah. I like this a lot. Though I still don't know much about the Mutos. Is one of them a female and the other a male? Would explain the spider vs flying mode they have.

That's the impression they're giving us, anyway, that the flyer is the male protecting the crawler which is the female, but it's anyone's honest guess at this point. I'm just AMAZED that the last trailer played up a sort of "New Showa" feel to it, that Godzilla may in fact be a sort of darker version of the Protector Hero we enjoyed in the classic era, just of course without the cartoony nature or the care for humanity. I will be stunned and delighted if it really turns out he's the dark hero in this film who rises up to beat the bad guy when a threat arises
