When I went to Hiroshima a few weeks ago, I visited the Atomic Bomb memorial. Out of everything in what was already an emotionally exhausting museum, the one thing that really struck me was the giant photograph of a pile of skulls and bones that had been dug out of the rubble. It was truly horrific.65 years ago, Honda and the crew at Toho took that pain and horror and made it into a monster.

Something that's always bugged me about US Godzilla films is most times they don't remember what horrors they unleashed to inspire Big G.
