Description This is an old oil painting from 2007 or so, inspired by my friend John Maisano's saber toothed cat sculpture that guards the entrance to the museum at the University of Texas.
I wanted to go with something really ethereal and different than a standard wildlife-style painting.

the fact that it looks mythical and not demonic is what captures my attention. when i look at it i don't think evil...but more of a great animal that is both terrifying but beautiful.
