Description I sculpted this tiny Sally (under 2") as a mockup model for a larger Sally I've been making (and feeling sort of uncertain about). The goal was to make her really quickly as sort of a "practice run" on the larger, more detailed model.

Seems like it worked out okay.

Super Sculpey, Acrylic paint, varnish. Took about 2 hours to make, which is kinda crazy.

My kitties are taller than her. <3

I might try doing that, it's just hard because they can be time consuming to make! I have a Bunnie in progress somewhere that I should really finish. Maybe next time I go to a convention I'll try to make all the Freedom Fighters.

yeah, good idea. you have a really great talent for this b.t.w but the best part is if you have fun in creating this. but i think you can make a lot of money outta this

I've made some $$ off my stuff, just I'm usually selling originals rather than fanart. Fanart is great 'cause it draws attention, though, even if people just look!

I hand sculpt them out of polymer clay and paint them with acrylics.

I sure hope so. I was kinda surprised by how well this came out, when you work larger it's easier for stuff to feel all lumpy if you aren't careful. On the other hand painting detail becomes easier on bigger pieces... ^_^

I would love to do a Soraya for you! I'm sorry Laser has taken so long, he is almost done at this time (and he's actually fairly large compared to this Sally). I attribute most of my improvement to working on Laser! It really is incredibly useful to try tackling other people's characters. Laser kinda forced me to learn a bunch of things that I'd have otherwise put off. Hopefully I'll start picking up the pace now... I really seem to be becoming faster at the modeling part thank goodness!

Aww, I'd never! You know, in a month or so hopefully I won't be so broke (but why, it's a secret. The news will explode on my journal soon enough.) Anyway, as things get better and better for me, I would like to commission you to do all my characters. With no hurry, you know. We can do it the way I do my freelance work: I'll pay you a deposit, and when you finish, I'll give you the rest. sound good?

Anyway, we still have to wait a little. But when the time comes, if you're game, I'd love for you to sculpt them.
